Frequently Asked Question
Internet Access Options
Last Updated 7 years ago
You can access the TBC network in one of two ways:
1) Ethernet
2) Wireless
Dorms have both Ethernet and Wireless access available for students. There are a minimum of 2 Ethernet ports in all rooms. Ethernet is the strongest, fastest, and most stable connection available at TBC. So for applications such as gaming consoles that require stable lagless throughput use Ethernet.
Wireless is available to students through the Wireless APs named TBC1, TBC, and TBC_Guest. It is preferred you never use TBC_Guest as it is unsecured and purposely slowed down.
Students are allowed to bring their own wireless routers if they desire wireless access in the dorms. However, if the router is shown to be interfering with the function of the provided wireless you will be asked to remove it.
If you experience issues connecting to the wireless or Ethernet networks please submit a support ticket by clicking the "Open a new ticket" link at the top of the page. Or send an email to helpdesk@trinitybiblecollege.edu.
