Resetting your password from the login screen

If you have not enabled login approvals, here's how to reset your password from the login screen. Remember that this method does not work for staff and faculty users.

1. Go to your school's Populi login screen.
2. Click Forgot your username or password?
3. Enter the email address used to first set up your account. This is your TBC email address.
4. Click Send.
5. Check that address for the reset password message. The sender name will be that of your school via notifications@populi.co. The subject will say Forgot Populi password.
6. The email will contain your username and a link to your school's Populi site where you can reset your password. Click the link and follow the prompts.

Resetting your password with login approvals

Because staff and faculty have access to sensitive information in Populi, we require a way to verify your identity before you reset a forgotten password. If you have enabled login approvals, that helps verify that the person resetting your password is actually you. If you're not using login approvals, you'll need to have the IT department send the email for you—we trust that the IT has verified that it is you who seeks to reset your account's password.

1. Go to your school's Populi login screen.
2. Click Forgot your username or password?
3. Enter the email address used to first set up your account. This is most likely your own personal email address.
4. Click Send.
5. Check that address for the reset password message. The sender name will be that of your school via notifications@populi.co. The subject will say Forgot Populi password.
6. The email will contain your username and a link to your school's Populi site where you can reset your password. Click the link.
7. Populi will ask you for the six-digit code generated by your authenticator app. Enter that code in the field provided and click Verify.
8. On the password-reset page, follow the instructions for entering your new password. When you click Save Password, Populi will log you in as normal.
