Frequently Asked Question

3 - Setting up Recovery Email
Last Updated 20 days ago

By default, for security reasons, all student accounts are set to recover to their TBC&GS email address. However, this has a flaw. You need to get into the account to access your email. This creates a logic loop that cannot be solved by the student. If you don't change your recovery email address then you have to contact support for assistance.

What do I mean when I say we do this for security? Well many students who sign up with us don't have their own email address. Instead they use one given to them by their school, or one they share with their family. As passwords and access to accounts are highly sensitive we don't feel comfortable trying to decide when an email is truly personal, or when it's an email that's available to more than one person, or even if the email address will exist in the next 6 months when you find yourself locked out. So we rely on the student to make the decision, where do they want password reset requests to go if they ever forget their password?

Thankfully it's super easy to setup your recovery address. This is done through your Profile here on insideTrinity.

Follow these steps:

1) Since you're already logged into insideTrinity (you have to be to see this) click on your name in the upper-right hand corner of the webpage.

2) Then in the menu that pops-up select "Profile"

3) In the upper-right of the Profile page you'll see a button that says "Edit Profile" click that.

4) There are a number of things you can change in your profile but the part we're interested in is right under your name, Email address.

5) Change this from your TBC&GS email address to a personal one.

PLEASE NOTE: insideTrinity will only accept free email addresses like Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc. If it rejects your personal email address contact support by emailing support@trinitybiblecollege.edu to get it changed to something else.
