TBC does allow you to use your own Wireless Routers in your dorm room.  There is a limit of 1 per room, you must allow your roommate access though you are not under any obligation to open it up to any of your neighboring rooms.

Wireless routers are not officially supported by IT.  If you cannot connect to the internet through your router in your room I will investigate and make sure that your room's Ethernet access is fully valid.  And I may offer tweaks and suggestions but I will not guarantee the success of any router on our network.

Also, if you plug your router in incorrectly the port in your room will automatically shut itself off.  So make sure you know how to correctly connect your wireless router.

We use a basic Ethernet based system.  This means modem/cable based routers will not work.
